first... the bad. i like to get the negatives out of the way, so the shiny happy moments can come through.
for those of you who know me, it's common knowledge that i don't do sports. i don't watch them. i don't play them. i don't enjoy them-- at. all. the issue? football season. my husband lives and breathes all things bears. in the past, this hasn't been a huge issue. he watches the bears... i do my thing... and all is right in the world. but NOW, he's in school... studying for his mba. which means, he hardly has time for me to begin with. now... through january, his free weekends will be consumed by football. not just the pro shit on tv.... but the badgers when they're at home. i may as well be single. well.. with the exception of the whole not making out with oodles of cute boys thing. i guess i need to plan lots of girls weekends?? ugh..... i. hate. football season. HATE. HATE. HATE.
how much do i hate football season? i can't even respect rivialries. i'm from wisconsin. a supposed "packers fan". my dad bought me a packers sweatshirt... i wear it, it's comfy. dave bought me a bears sweatshirt. i wear it. it's comfy. do i care that there's something taboo when it comes to owning and wearing rival teams' sweatshirts? NO. so sue me.
MOVING ON.
the positive!!
remember when i was bitching about my new jobs whole internet restriction thing? i have found two major websites i am allowed access to. the first.... goodreads. yes! the second, BLOGGER. YES!!!! i *almost* posted a blog at work today... and then panic set in that my work may be monitering my every move, and i'm not really sure i wanted to have them reading what i was writing. i mean, not that i have bad things to say about my new job (aside from their BULLSHIT internet policies) but, still......
now i just need access to facebook and gmail and all will be right in my world.
a girl can dream, right?

As a football fan myself, I can't sympathize with you....my sister in law however would glady join your "I Hate Sports" brigade. It does suck that on his only free day he's consumed in things you don't enjoy....hopefully you can keep yourself busy!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a football fan either, lucky for me neither is my husband. But since he is a musician I hardly get to see him either. It totally blows. But I guess we need to let them have their hobbies.
ReplyDeleteWe're headed up to Wisconsin this weekend to watch a packers game. We won't be rooting for them, but I'm excited for my very first trip to the state.
