who quits their job in the midst of a recession?

oh right, i do.

the husband is heading back to school for his MBA, which means a big move, and impending unemployment. i gave my two weeks notice at work today, which went over ashtonishngly well, and now i suppose it's time to start getting my resume ready for another round......... oh joy! not. *cross your fingers that i'm able to find a job QUICKLY*

ANYWAYS- i can't think of anything else terribly noteworthy about my monday. monday's are always rough after a great weekend and i had a great weekend.

friday night we signed a lease on our condo- or, i should say another couple signed a lease on our condo. HUGE RELIEF. funny how that works- our condo has been on the market since march... we had THREE showings... and one half-assed ($25K+ below asking) offer. but, we're advertised as "for rent" for less than a week and we have a signed lease. i love it. let's just hope the renters don't suck..... please cross your fingers for that too.

saturday we went to a tailgate before the brewers game. i love tailgating. good friends. good food. good drinks. oh, and i suppose a good baseball game. (for those of you that don't know- i'm not so much of a "sports girl") but hey, the brewcrew did win. i like to say it's because i was there... i haven't been to a game in a good five years, of course they had to win!

sunday we went to a little bbq at my cousin-in-law's. i got to snuggle her ADORABLE baby and eat mini burgers and have a few glasses of sangria and hang out w/ the rest of the cousins- what more could i want?? i'm so glad my husband has an awesome family... i don't think i'll ever have any of those "dreaded in-law" stories... WIN!

and on that note- it's off to bed for yours truly. finish my wine... read a bit... and it's lights out.

let's hope for a good tuesday!

  1. Looks like we're in the same boat. I'm quitting my job tomorrow...and still have nothing lined up. Good luck with the job search! Glad you found a renter for your condo. Ours has been on the market since last August and all we keep getting are really crappy low ball offers too!

  2. There are few things that are better than snuggling a cute baby and drinking sangria on a Sunday!

I hope the job search goes well!
