i love my job.

today, at about 3pm, my boss came up to my desk and asked, "white or red?". i must have looked terribly confused... as that's not normally a midday work question.... out of context, you know? so he clarified, "well, you've said before you don't drink beer... so, white or red?" OH! RED. i'm still confused. he then walked off, only to return minutes later with a GIANT glass of pinot.

what? my boss just gave me wine? while at work? i'll take it.

i went back to working (er, gchating), my spirits lifted, only to have him come back to my desk about a half hour later to tell me to shut down my computer, put the phone on night service, and come to the back office. i do as i'm told, and come to discover the entire office sacked out on our leather couches, choice beverages in hand, in front of our fireplace and giant plasma... to play some wii. apparently this was the "celebrations" portion of our "potluck and celebrations" party today, which i thought was just your run of the mill potluck. i love celebrations!

so, for the first time in my life i've stayed at work past 5... discovered that my office keeps a fully stocked bar in the conference room, throughly enjoyed that pinot, and got down with some wii and the best co-workers... well, ever. oh... and i was sent home w/ two bottles of wine to go. WIN!

  2. Can I PLEASE come work with you? My boss gets drunk at work, but no one else can drink. (What a rip off, huh?)

  4. "tell me to shut down my computer, put the phone on night service, and come to the back office." This is how many office affairs begin.

  7. Oh man, that sounds just like the place i dream to work at. I hate my job and there's never anything fun happening for the employees (they even cancelled the annual xmas luncheon this year which was the only get together for employees). So I keep applying for jobs and keep on dreaming... You are truly lucky.
