snow hurts my feelings.

remember when i was talking about that blizzard last night? they seriously weren't lying... seriously, they weren't. this is what i discovered upon venturing out of my apartment, and attempting to get to work. someone had even already built a snowman!
that halfway dug out jeep is my husbands... that snowball, er... car, next to it is mine. clearly, my car won't be going anywhere for quite some time. i attempted to plow his car throw the knee-deep snow and failed miserably. a lovely gentleman was kind enough to help me push the damn jeep back into it's spot....
looking down my street... if i didn't HATE snow so much, i'd actually thing it was kind of pretty.
amazingly, building maintence did manage to get half my sidewalk shoveled. nice work maintence, nice work.
AND.. much to my delight, my boss did call to say that work was closed and not to come in! wohoo! if only he had made that call about an hour earlier... before i got soaked trying to get there. oh well, i'll take what i can get!

  1. It really is pretty when it's a picture of somewhere you're not.

Today our forecast is for rain, sleet, ice, snow, and excessive wind, in that order. I may call a cab to take me home. Winter can blow me.

  2. @ wines- ugghhh, i'd say that's grounds for a personal day. tell them you might slip and fall in the parking lot. nobody wants the pregnant girl to fall on their property, esp one that's married to a lawyer! muahahaha

  5. Snow was great when it meant staying home. Now that I'm an adult and I must go to work regardless (I guess they consider me "essential personnel") I'm not a fan of the snow at all.

  6. I also HATE snow. And for some reason I live on a mountain. We don't really get snow that often actually (the world will see in February) but last year the buses stopped running and aside from a cab (and what cab is going to go up a mountain when no one has plowed the roads and its still snowing?) I had no way to get to work.
    Work was not cancelled.
I had to take an unpaid day.
    Enjoy your day off!
