...and not take it back out? yeah. like that could ever happen.
well, it did... for about two weeks. i decided that i really really really needed to start saving money. i have a savings account... but, i don't really ever put anything in there.... and when i do, i just take it back out when i find something i need... er want.
i figured now was the perfect time to start this new habit. with christmas coming, i'll be getting money and presents and won't need to spend my own money on myself... right? wrong.
for some reason, during a slow bit at work, i decided to venture over to banana republic's website. i just so happened to click on their sale button... and then i just so happened to put 2 or 3... okay, more like 5 or 6 items (dare i say 7), into my "cart". and then, i just so happened to click on the checkout button (that's so handy that they store your credit card number, isnt it??)... and THEN, my new habit went straight out the window.
at first i felt moderatly guilty. then that went straight out the window too. new clothes are WAY too exciting to ever feel guilt over. especially when i haven't bought anything for myself in two weeks. right? RIGHT? except now the buyers remorse is starting to settle in again. damnit.
in another day or two i'll forget about my little spree... and then when my package is delivered it will be a delight all over again.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

You sound just like me with my savings account! =)
ReplyDeleteThat is my New Years resolution is to save save save, since I will be debt free come March 1st! =)
True story: The last savings account I opened was closed by the bank because it was empty for so long.
ReplyDeleteThose checkouts with the saved info are deadly every time. Especially if you're like me and routinely fill up the shopping basket with things for the sole purpose of going back and looking at them every day until either caving and going broke or they disappear because too many someone elses caved first...ugh.
Now I feel like I need to buy something.
Yeah, this post just made me want to online shop. Shit.
ReplyDeleteBuyers remorse is the worst! It's so much fun to spend, why can't we just be happy forever?
ReplyDeleteI cut up my debit card so I couldn't use it at all. I was just using cash all the time. Until I wanted to shop online. No, the number wasn't stored under a user name and password at the online store, it was saved in my head. All 16 digits, the expiration date as well as the 3 digit security code. See, there really was no reason for me to be carrying a debit card after all!
this is why I put my hubby in charge of the savings account. I know he will put money in there and then harass me if I take any out.
