here is my issue this morning: illinois traffic/drivers. (how many more days until i move?????)
no matter what day, no matter what time, no matter the weather, no matter WHAT... i swear to the lord above, that everyone in this damn state is DRIVING. i don't think half these people even have a destination. they just drive... for the sake of driving, and they're TERRIBLE AT IT. everyone thinks their car is a damned race car. everyone thinks the rules of the road don't apply to them. everyone is A BAD DRIVER. i can't tell you how many times, in the 3 years i've lived here, that i've almost been run off the road, or plowed into, or both... by some dickbag in his f'ing SUV, usually because they are too busy yapping on their cell phones and running red lights. what's the hurry? do you really need to floor in attempt to make it through that yellow light, even though you know FULL WELL that by the time you make, the light will have turned red as red can be?
i'm 125% certain, that if you take driver's ed in illinois, this is what they give you to study out of:
on top of this... illinois, apparently, doesn't understand the concept of sycronizing (i know i spelled that wrong) their stop lights. i spend a disgusting amount of time sitting through the same red light (sometimes up to FOUR TIMES) every single day, b/c all the stoplights are out of synch, causing MASSIVE traffic backups. i'm 97% certain that half my gas is burned up idling in traffic.
my solution? let's just flatten the entire state and pave it over into one giant parking lot. because really... that's what it already is.
